GO MAD FOR NUTS: SNACK BRAND LAUNCHES THREE NEW RANGES
HEALTHY snack brand Nutmad has announced the launch of three new products, to coincide with its first year anniversary.
The company was launched last year by nut-loving foodie, Michaela Hardt, in a bid to bring activated nuts to the masses.
Activated nuts are richer and cleaner in taste, crunch and ingredients, making them the perfect choice for a healthy ‘on the go’ lifestyle.
Nutmad first stepped into the marketplace with its Natural Almonds and sea salt Almonds late last year.
From December this year, it now offers the following three additions:
Walnuts with salted maple caramel
Cashews with maple and rosemary, and
Natural Nut mix.
So, how are activated nuts created?
Activated nuts have been soaked in water and salt for a period of time, which starts off the germination or sprouting process, then dehydrated at a low temperature. Soaking increases the nutrient value of the nuts along with breaking down the problematic compounds that help enhance their digestibility. Soaking also improves the taste, because it makes the nuts less bitter, especially walnuts and almonds.
And what makes nuts the perfect healthy choice?
Nuts are a natural source of protein, especially important for vegans, vegetarians, and people who are trying to incorporate more plant-based food in their diet. They are naturally free from gluten and diary, and all Nutmad products are refined sugar free.
How are they sold by Nutmad?
Nutmad products are sold via a subscription, weekly or fortnightly, on www.nutmad.com. They are available in 30g and 70g bags.
