Beyonce’s protégés, Chloe x Halle, have released their track Happy Without Me ft Joey Bada$$, impacting in the UK on August 31st.  The track is taken from their critically acclaimed album The Kids Are Alright. Watch the video here.

Chloe likens their album to writing a diary. She says: “When it comes to the messages in our music, we’re really speaking to ourselves, first,” she says. “Everybody feels down or insecure sometimes, but putting those emotions into song has been the best therapy for us.” Earning the stamp of approval from their musical mentor and Parkwood Entertainment label head was the icing on the cake. “Beyoncé always encourages us to believe in ourselves,” adds Chloe. “She also allows us the freedom to create the music and art that we want to present to the world.”

It was December 2013 that changed the path of Chloe x Halle when they shared their rendition of Beyonce’s ballad, Pretty Hurts (which has so far garnered over 15million views). First came a call from Beyoncé, followed by a recording deal with her label, Parkwood Entertainment. Since then, Chloe x Halle served as the opening act for “The Formation World Tour” and “On The Run II” and appeared in the now-legendary visual album, Lemonade. In 2016, they also lent their voices to the song, This is for My Girls (alongside Kelly Rowland, Zendaya and Janelle Monáe, among them) in support of Let Girls Learn, an education-focused initiative launched by former President Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama. They now star in Grown-ish (spin off from the hit series Black-ish).  The rest is their history in the making.

With their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, EP Sugar Symphony and mixtape The Two Of Us under their belts, Chloe x Halle are surely on their way, yet they’re just getting started. Not surprisingly, they’re as optimistic about the future as they are about staying true to their ever-evolving fan base. “This album is our journey and we hope to inspire young girls and women to feel empowered and know that they are worthy,” Halle says. It’s a journey that they’re honored to take together. “I really love working with my sister,” Chloe adds. “This album means so much to us and we’re so grateful for every, single blessing that has come our way. We just want to continue to grow and always be better.”
